Tell us about your child
Joel is a 7 year old twin. He’s got cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, epilepsy, and had brain surgery in January 2012.
Tell us about the challenges you have faced due to your child’s illness
I lost a lot of work trying to care for him. I don’t feel like I’ve been doing enough for my kids….
Tell us what it is like to have a child who is hospitalized and/or needs ongoing care
It is especially difficult when the child that has special needs is a twin and they feel left out.
How did For the Love of Grace assist you?
When we were inpatient I was out of work on an unpaid leave to be with my son and nearly lost my electricity. For the Love of Grace saved my family from losing our power!
Did it help alleviate some stress?
It was a tremendous help!
How is your family doing now?
We still struggle…catching up with bills and all the medical costs.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
It was great to have someone who has never met you care!
