Gracia “Gracie” Rae Maille

For the Love of Grace was started in 2009 in memory of Gracia (Gray-sha) Rae Maille. Gracia was born a happy healthy baby. At 2 1/2 months old she was hospitalized due to kidney failure and RSV (a respiratory virus). She was in the hospital for six weeks during which time she developed numerous other problems, but there was no diagnosis for her illness.

The doctors and nurses determined that she would be stable enough to return home after her seventh week in the hospital, but she didn’t quite make it. At only four months old, Gracia passed away.

This time in the hospital was a difficult one for the entire family. Her mother spent every moment with her at the hospital, while her father tried to maintain the household and bills.

Currently, there is a lack of support for other families who are experiencing similar situations, as assistance is scarce. The founders of For the Love of Grace want to share Gracia’s story by helping other families who’ve experienced the same difficult loss and economic hardship…

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-5
